Cobden Pioneer Park is an historical theme park, located adjacent to Cobden Miniature Railway, and is a project of Progressing Cobden Inc.
It was established on the racecourse reserve in 1998 to preserve the district’s past history for future generations. and is open to the public on the third Sunday of every month, every Sunday in the school holidays, or by appointment.
The aim of the Cobden Pioneer Park is to preserve the history of the Cobden and Heytesbury region which is strong in dairy, timber and general agriculture. Authentic buildings have been moved to the site and others have been faithfully re-created to show how the pioneers of our district lived and earned their livelihood.
Any community members interested in joining the committee would be warmly welcomed. Come along and enjoy the convivial company.
Don’t throw anything old out – contact us first please – once it is gone, it cannot be replaced. It is up to us to preserve our history in order to educate and entertain those who follow us.
