Cobden Olympic Basketball Association (COBA) provides the young people of Cobden and district with the opportunity to participate in the fast and dynamic game of basketball – by playing, coaching, refereeing or simply supporting!
The association, established in 1983, has been running ever since at the Cobden Recreation Centre with the involvement of many enthusiastic players from all over the Corangamite Shire.
Currently, we run a mixed under 13 competition for juniors. In the past there has been a women’s and men’s competition along with seniors from 13 years up. We hope to offer these again in the future.
The competition runs on a Thursday night in the gym at the Recreation Centre from October to March, breaking for the Christmas holidays. We often run a winter competition on a Tuesday too, depending on interest.
We are very fortunate to have a fantastic group of volunteers who help on the committee and with coaching and refereeing. This allows us to keep the cost of participation to an absolute minimum.
Our annual general meeting is usually held in September and we always welcome new members, young and old.
