Cobden Fire Brigade formed in 1938. The original fire station was in Silvester Street until 2004, when the new fire station was built in McKenzie Street.

There are approximately 20 volunteer fire-fighters in the Cobden brigade, and they are on call via a pager system 24 hours a day seven days a week.

• 1 pumper (with breathing apparatus)
• 1 tanker (with breathing apparatus)
• 1 DCab ute
